Q: How do we get to Port McNeill?
A: To get to Port McNeill, follow highway 19 North on Vancouver Island to Campbell River. Stay on highway 19 north for approximately two hours through some of the most beautiful scenery on the island. Port McNeill is about 10 min. past the famous Telegraph Cove turn off. Turn right at the intersection to Port McNeill, and follow this road into town, where there are several B&B's and hotels to serve you.
Q: How do we find you?
A: You can find us in Port McNeill either by phone 956-2411 or toll free at 1-800-956-2411 ,or by e-mail on the How to Find us page of this website.
Q: How long are the day trips?
A: Our day trips will begin at 8:00 am and return at approximately 6:00 pm. However, if you are wishing an earlier start we can accommodate. We offer also ½ day trips to some of our local shorter trails and beaches.
Q: If it is raining, do we still go?
A: Yes, we will still go even in the rain. We have a limited amount of raingear; if you need some, please inform us ahead of time. We reserve the right to change the destination in case of extreme weather or extreme high tides.
Q: Do you have group rates?
A: Yes, we do have group rates. Please contact us for more info.
Q: Where do you go?
A: We mainly go to the west coast of the island. San Josef Bay / Ronnings Garden / Raft Cove / Heckt Beach / Grant Bay and Winter Harbour. We also offer shorter ½ day trips to some local areas. We can custom design a trip to suit your special interests.
Q: Do you have hikes for beginners?
A: Yes we do. San Josef Bay / Ronnings Garden / Grant Bay and the Winter Harbor boardwalk are all very easy hikes.
Q: Do you have hikes for the experienced hiker?
A: Raft Cove and Heckt Beach are for the experienced hiker. Mt. Saint Patrick is very difficult, but has a beautiful view on a clear day.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Clothing is a very important part of any hike. You will want to dress in layers, wear light but warm clothing that dries quickly, and a hat for sunny or rainy days. Sun screen is also a good idea to bring. If you have a rain jacket or a wind breaker you may want to bring it as the weather can change quickly on the west coast. It is also a good idea to have a change of clothing if the weather turns nasty.
Q: What about a lunch?
A: Daytrippers will supply a lunch. For more info please contact us either by phone or by internet.
Q: What time of the year do you operate?
A: We operate mainly from May to October, but we will also go out at any time of the year. Feel free to contact us to arrange a trip anytime of the year.
Q: What kind of transportation do you have?
A: We have a four wheel drive GMC Suburban that seats eight, including the driver.
